Paris… The city of art, romance and fine wines. As an Amsterdam based gent, I can really relate to Parisian men. How I see it, Parisians are – like Amsterdam men – stylish, have class and are always busy and rushed (yes, it’s the hard truth). Therefore, when I am in Paris, it feels familiar, almost like I could live there myself. That is why I don’t stroll the city like a tourist when I am in Paris. To know how to experience Paris as if you are Parisian yourself, read further…

– Checking in: Panache Hotel Paris

Personally, a good hotel can make or break your stay in a city like Paris. Panache Hotel, is a good example. This well located hotel in the vibrant centre of Paris at rues Geoffrey-Marie has a modern and beautiful design, friendly staff and a delicious restaurant. From this central point transportation is easy. You can be sure to have a great stay at this place.

– Time for coffee: Le Boot Café

This tiny coffee café is refreshingly different from other coffee places. The café, located at rue du Pont aux Choux, only has two (yes, only two!) tables to sit down at but has real character. If you can’t get a hold on a table, you can also take your coffee to go. And, the coffee tastes great! Oh, - don’t forget to grab one of their pastries as well.

– Art with a capital ‘A’: Palais du Tokyo

Okay… I know sightseeing seems like a tourist thing to do. But art is an important part of Paris’ character and there are some museums you just have to visit when you are there. Besides some obvious places like the Louvre, Palais du Tokyo is a must-see as well. If you like contemporary art and modern expositions, this is the place to go.

– Wine is the answer: Frenchie’s Wine Bar

You can’t leave Paris without having tasted some fine wines at one of Paris’ many wine bars. Frenchie’s Wine Bar in particular is from the same concept as the Frenchie restaurant – that restaurant where you had to have made a reservation about 10 years ago... The wine bar on the other hand, located at rue de Nill, doesn’t do reservations so it’s just a matter of concurring a good spot. Enjoy their wines and nice food-platters for a great ending of your Parisian day.
